The concept of TOD (transit-oriented development) is rooted in the idea of developing condominiums, mixed-use commercial, and office space in compact tightly zoned, land- and infrastructure-efficient nodules. Accessed by, and pivoting on high-volume transit, its aim is to reduce or even eliminate the perceived need for street- and air-clogging cars and the bane of suburban sprawl. Landcor examines two Metro Vancouver Skytrain lines and analyzes development potential along their routes.
